ScentScout is a personal editorial project by Auryel. It exists to help beginners find real fragrances without needing perfume vocabulary. These terms describe what the site is, what it is not and what you can rely on when you use it.
What ScentScout is
An editorial guide over a curated catalog of 150 real fragrances. Recommendations come from a deterministic scorer that is fully documented on the About page. Identical answers plus identical saved signals always produce identical results. No large language model affects rankings.
Editorial disclaimer
Catalog notes, longevity, projection, price bands, descriptions, tags and matching attributes are editorial approximations. They are not independently verified laboratory measurements or live inventory. 57 records were checked against the brand's own product page and are marked with an Official reference badge on the fragrance profile. The remaining 93 records are editorial and have not been independently verified.
Availability, packaging and price change constantly. Always confirm the current product details with the retailer before purchase.
Retailer links
All retailer buttons on this site are neutral, non-affiliate search links. ScentScout currently earns no commission from any retailer and no retailer pays for placement. Ranking is decided purely by the deterministic scorer described in About. If affiliate links are added later, they will be clearly labeled on the page and will never affect which fragrances appear or where they rank.
Live US price scout
The optional Live US price scout on /scout queries a third-party US shopping index only after you press Check live prices. The only field the browser sends is the selected catalog fragrance ID. Results cover only the current shopping result set for that variant. This is not the whole web and not a guarantee of the cheapest price. Samples, decants, gift sets, testers and dupes are filtered out. Only shipping the retailer states explicitly is included in the delivered total. Tax is excluded. Seller authenticity is not verified. Confirm the final total, stock and delivery at checkout.
Your responsibilities
Use ScentScout for personal fragrance discovery. Do not attempt to abuse the site, probe for vulnerabilities, scrape the catalog for a competing commercial product or submit unlawful, hateful or spam content through the anonymous feedback or missing fragrance forms. If you spot something wrong, please use the on-page correction and request forms so future updates can fix it.
Fragrance perception is personal. Even a well-scored match may not be the right scent for you in practice. Try before you commit whenever possible.
No warranty
ScentScout is provided as-is for informational purposes. To the maximum extent allowed by law, ScentScout and Auryel make no warranties about the accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose of the catalog data, matches, live price lookups or any linked retailer offer. Use of the site is at your own risk.
Changes
These terms may be updated as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected here. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
